Dining Out: Bar Bambino

We've walked by this place maybe a dozen times. And until Laura Iriarte retweeted an article from 7x7SF about the best outdoor patios in SF to eat, I kept forgetting about it. But that's ok. It was well worth the wait.

There's no sign outside, except for a sign board on the sidewalk. If you don't know it's on 16th between Mission and South Van Ness, you'd probably walk by it or pause briefly thinking it's a bar. We'd decided last minute to dine at Bar Bambino for dinner, so we didn't have reservations. I arrived around 6:45PM and luckily seats at the bar were still open. I snapped up the seats at the low bar. (If your heart is set on dining here, I'd recommend getting reservations; Bar Bambino is incredibly popular.)

Place Setting

Up until we sampled Bar Bambino's antipasto platter, Starbelly's was hands down our favorite. In terms of overall presentation, Starbelly still wins, but for the meats, it's Bar Bambino. We'll definitely be back to sample more. To view all the photos from our dinner, check out our Flickr stream.
