What I Crave: Chocolate-Covered Sea Salt Caramels

IMG_0835

Growing up I hated caramels. Hard or soft, it didn't matter, I didn't like them. Interestingly enough curiosity got the better of me last year when I stumbled upon Happy Goat Caramels on a Vegan Ice Cream run to Bi-Rite Creamery. One bite and I was hooked; I love caramels.

The other week at Powell's in Lafayette, caramels caught my interest, specifically chocolate-covered caramels. I, of course, picked up two of each type. Two so that both cubes and I could sample the delight. It's a good thing that I got two pieces; once I bit into the Dark Chocolate Covered Sea Salt Caramel I didn't want to share.

Salted Caramels

Yesterday I was lamenting the lack of cow milk's free chocolate covered caramels. I'd only had Vanilla Bean Goat Milk Caramels from Happy Goat and hadn't realized they'd expanded their product offering (Bi-Rite Market just carries the one line). I'm thinking I may just have to try their Chocolate & Sea Salt Goat Milk Caramels to satisfy this craving.

What about you, love or hate caramels?

Bon Apetit!
