The predominant color in our kitchen is black (I shared a
photo of our kitchen back in December). Our countertops are black granite. The tile backsplash has black tiles. Our appliances are black.
Lately I've been finding myself drawn to bright spaces. Because we rent, I can't brighten the space up with painted cabinets (they're a nice warm natural wood stain). Instead, I am thinking of changing our kitchen towels and maybe decluttering the countertops some more.
We could add a dash of red.

The prices of linen kitchen towels seems to vary widely on Etsy; for example, these bright fork and knife print towels - at $45.99 each I'd be too afraid to use them.
Then again we could swap out the sepia prints I took at the Los Gatos Farmer's Market that hang in our hallway with a trio of of these bright towels. For the moment I think I'm going to research prices of vintage linen towels and hit up our local Goodwill stores (you never know what you might find!).
Any non-permanent ideas for brightening up a space?
Bon Apetit!
