Some objects have the power to transport me back to my childhood. An old Ms. Butterworth's syrup bottle takes me back to my parents' house, specifically to the weekend and pancake and waffle breakfasts. When I moved into my first apartment, my mom gave me the Ms. Butterworth's bottle.
My grandparents kept a well-stocked bar. Two items always sat near it or on it. One a Japanese Geisha and the other a Leather Owl decanter from Roos/Atkins California. These take me to holiday gatherings with my aunts and uncles and cousins. Both my grandparents passed away in 1999, but these objects always bring them back to me.
If you like owls, there's a decanter just like mine (sans the port wine stains) available on Etsy.
